Cloth Diapers!!!

I was amazed when I first saw today's cloth diapers. A friend of mine uses Fuzzi Bunz...These are amazing!! Definately NOT your grandma's cloth diapers. So I started looking into this amazing world and what I found out truly amazed me!!

First thing I realized was all the chemicals that disposable diapers use in the making and that they can actually cause most of the rash problems we see today. This made sense to me, because the sale of diaper rash creams has gone up considerably since the main-streaming of disposable diapers years ago. Think about it...did our parents and grandparents have all these diaper rash creams? Did they have to deal with all the sensitive skin issues most parents are dealing with today? Could disposable diapers be part of the problem?

The next thing I realized is how cute some of these diapers are!! There are so many different types of cloth diapers my head started to spin. Thank the Lord that he gives us 9 months to learn about these things.

I've decided to use pocket diapers. These are diapers that have a pocket and you put a cloth insert into them. The benefit of these is that you can add extra inserts when needed, like for over night use. Also you take out the inserts for washing and drying. Which helps to clean them and dry them more efficiently.

There is a great online forum that has tons of information from parents just like us!!  www.diaperswappers.com  There is information on everything from cloth diapers, breast feeding, formula feeding, baby wearing...you name it!!
